Artists
There are a number of artists whom I really dig, simply because their music is good. And for that reason I once decided to collect as much of their output as humanly and financially possible. This includes, but not limited to, regular album and single releases, special editions and promotional items.
The following pages contain an overview of their releases, scans and information, in the hope to give them some much deserved exposure as sometimes there is not much (detailed) information about these artists on the net. Especially since most are either rather obscure, disbanded, or not active in the West.
A list with featured artists can be found below.
Apparatjik? Sounds like… Apparatjik. Or maybe like Apparatjik. But then again, it sounds more like Apparatjik. Apparatjik were a so-called superband, featuring members of Coldplay, a-ha and Mew plus a renowned producer. They teamed up in 2008 to record one song for the BBC2 program Amazon with Bruce Perry. Reactions were very positive which lead to a single and a…
The Horrors formed in 2005 and originate from Southend-on-Sea, UK. I am pretty sure that they tried to reflect their style in their name back then, as today they are the complete opposite. They started as a garage/punk/rock band with screaming vocals and roaring organs, but they moved to psychedelic 60’s influenced music with a touch of shoegaze and indie…

メトロノーム (read: metronome) are a band originating from Japan and were active between 1998 and 2009 and re-formed in Autumn 2016. They had quite some line-up changes with Sharaku (vocals) and Fukusuke (guitar) being the only original members. They said that they traveled through time from the year 2005 to 1998 to boost their record sales, hence their futuristic themes…
Mirrors were a band originating from Brighton, UK. They started when indie rock band Mumm-Ra broke up. James, the singer from Mumm-Ra, met Ally and they formed Mirrors soon after James “Tate” joined them, a member from Mumm-Ra as well. When Josef joined, the original line-up was complete and the four started to work on material. Mirrors were compared with…
Mumm-Ra are an English indie rock band who started in 2000 and called it a day in April 2008. Two of the members soon formed Mirrors. They released one album, one EP and a handful of singles. Most singles hit the UK Top 40 singles chart and their song She’s Got You High became quite popular after it was featured…
NOIZ, Imitation PoPs NOIZ, Imitation PoPs 宇宙戦隊NOIZ, 宇宙戦隊NOIZ, UCHUSENTAI:NOIZ and now Neu:NOIZ. Those are the names that the band has used over the years. A career that started in or around 1993 although some sources cite a date as early as 1988. Zebra and Snake were a duo from Finland, creating synth-pop music like in the good old 80’s, which is mixed with some goth, rock, electro and trance.
